The Salem Witch Trials and The Freedom Riders You're walking in front of all your neighbors, friends, and even strangers and you can see the noose that will take your life. You are not the only one who has had this punishment nor will you be the last one for they are punishing people who have done nothing wrong. They think you are a supernatural creature, a witch to be exact. You know for a fact that you do not have any supernatural powers and that you definitely would not use those powers to hurt children. The 20 people that were killed for being a witch and the other 200 people that were accused have done nothing wrong, they were just targeted by others. In the Salem witch trials, they were targeted by children. This is not the only occurrence where people were killed for doing nothing wrong or for doing the right thing. One more recent event could be the freedom riders when their bus was bombed on Mother's day in 1961. People get accused and punished for things when they did not even do anything wrong, others just don't agree with them and they get punished for that. Well, lots of people (mostly children) were getting sick and they did not have an explanation for this. Someone had just come out with a book about supernatural creatures and what they can do to you. The children's side effects matched almost all of the side effects of being cursed by a witch. Now, after people had started making the claim that it could be a witch the young teenagers soon started to confess they had seen people flying around on brooms in the night. Soon the girls started to name people who they claimed where a witch. Most of the people who were killed either had done something earlier to upset the girls or they had not gotten along.
