A tale as old as time can be retold in many different versions, each containing slightly different storylines. Versions of the story have been found all across Europe and Asia. The Italian version by Italo Calvino paints the story of Bellinda, her father, and her two sisters: Assunta and Carolina. The disney movie adaptation follows Belle and her Father in a small town in France. Even though the stories come from similar origins, they both contain different details, while keeping the same main idea.
