It might look like “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Marble Champ” by Gary Soto are different kinds of story. One is a fairytale from long time ago and one is a short story about kids from the the present time, but if you take a second look you'll realize that they both share a common theme. In both stories the authors teach us that if you keep trying you will succeed.

In the “Three Little Pigs,” the author shows us that sometimes if take chances it gives you more possibility to succeed. In the beginning and in the middle of the story the first and second little pig made their houses too weak and the big bad wolf blows their house down.
