Influential People William Shakespeare, Michael Jackson, and Martin Luther King Jr. are some of the most significant figures in history. All three of these famous people come from vastly different backgrounds and eras, but they all have impacted the world. Shakespeare's works are being performed and read generations after his death, Michael Jackson's music is still listened to by many different people and is bringing people together. Martin Luther King Jr. paved the way for social justice movements. “Since the days of Shakespeare, the English language has changed, and so have audiences, theatres, actors, and customary patterns of thought and feeling”( Brittanica). This quote proves how Shakespeare's works remain relevant and continue to be given attention worldwide due to their interesting themes and wonderful use of language. Even though it's been centuries since his death, his books, poems, plays and works are still being given attention due to their uniqueness. “In the absence of such “proof” of authorship, some skeptics have posed the question: How could a man of such humble origins and education come by such wealth of insight, wide-ranging understanding of complex legal and political matters and intimate knowledge of life in the English court?” (history). This quote shows how even though Shakespeare was born into poverty and had no resources to begin with, he was still able to make it and become really successful and have great knowledge.
