Comparing Two Car Advertisements

There has always been the saying, a dog is a man's best friend, because dogs are loyal and have close relations with humans. Over the years, dogs have become more of an appeal in advertising. This is because dogs spark an interest to an audience, so companies began using them in advertisements to get higher views. Also, for trying to get a better result of the product with higher sales. There are two car advertisements, both featuring dogs, sharing similar ways to get the viewers attention because if a dog always has your back, then the company will too. This advertisement was published February 13, 2014. The advertisement begins with a very young boy and a father, hanging up a lost dog sign. The sign was for their lost dog named Sam, a blonde golden retriever. The young kid talks about how his dog was missing, and kept saying “My dad told me to remember good things, keep looking, and the good things will find their way back to you”. During this time, his father was driving him around talking to different people, trying to find their dog Sam. His father was driving a red, new Chevrolet truck. The advertisement goes to show that the truck is suitable for all different types of driving conditions. The first location they drive to is a mountain filled area with a large pond. The kid begins to remember good things, like how his father told him to, he sees a memory in the right side mirror of the truck of him, his father, and their currently missing dog walking to the pond, to go fishing. Not only does this part of the advertisement show a heart felt sad moment, but it is also shows off the truck. The next location is a dry, grassy field. They then just driving through a normal neighborhood in the Chevrolet truck.

During this commercial it becomes very emotional, because a poor young boy has lost his best friend, his dog. The whole time they do not have music playing, the boy talks and says “If you keep looking the good things will come back to you.” The advertisement
