With PLEs coming to end we are going over compare and contrast as review for their upcoming paper they have to write. What Mrs. Detreick did was she put a vein diagram. Before we started to go into these we she explained what comparing and contrasting was and she said that when doing this you are taking two things and writing down information that is the same and information that is different. For the example she used mammals and reptiles. This was a good topic because students are interested in this topic.

There were two men with the same name, who grew up in the same neighborhood, with different fates. One Wes Moore is in prison, and the other Wes Moore is an author and a decorated war vet. Wes 1 is the the author and war veteran, all the while Wes 2 is in prison for life. These two men grew up very near each other, but both men had different schools, different friends, and different living situations. Eliezer Wiesel and Jeanne Wakatsuki have very many things in common through rough experiences in the camps they were in. Eliezer and Jeanne have a lot in common like how they both changed personality’s throughout the story, how they showed fear in many situations, and lastly they both learned from these hard experiences. Even though Eliezer and Jeanne can relate in many ways they are actually quite different and experienced different things. For instance, Eliezer was not obstinate like Jeanne. Also, there was a point in the novel where he was completely alone while Jeanne had her family with her throughout the whole time in the camp.

The Democratic-Republican and Federalist parties when formed when Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had conflicting views when they were elected as heads of departments by George Washington. Some of the beliefs the Democratic-Republicans had were ruled by the people, strong state government, economy based on agriculture, a strict interpretation of government, strongest ally with the French and have state banks. On the other hand, the Federalist views were, ruled by the wealthy, strong federal government, economy based around manufacturing, a loose interpretation of the government, strongest ally with the British and have a national bank. There are many differences between HBCU’s and PWI’s. “An Historically Black Institution were founded by people who believed African Americans and white students have an equal right to be educated” (Prager 1). Today these institutions function to preserve the history of African American culture, while providing students a safe and comfortable platform for educational enrichment (Roebuck 1). Predominately white institutions serve to educate all students, but since the majority of the population is white, the concerns of the majority students will be made a priority (Roebuck 2). Both types of institutions have a multitude of differences including funding, learning style, and school environment.
When our government first started, our founding fathers had different views on how we should interpret the constitution. Influential people like Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had opposing sides to topics, so they went and formed political parties. Jefferson formed the party known as the Democratic-Republicans, and Hamilton formed the group known as the Federalists. One topic they faced was whether they should be strict or loose on viewing the constitution. The Federalist believed that we should look at the constitution very loosely.
