Michigan vs Michigan State
“Those who stay will be champions” (Bo Schembechler). This was Bo’s motto for his college football team when they were losing hope. College level sports and academics are very competitive, many people lose faith in their college when they are not the best, but that does not mean they will never be great. College rivalries are a huge part of society. Everyone can enjoy and get excited for a college rivalry game in football, basketball, hockey, etc. Rivalries will never go away and who is the best will always change, but it is who never gives up that will always be the champion. Colleges that are in the same state can even be on opposite end of the spectrum. Michigan and Michigan State are different and similar in many aspects because of their traditions, their academics, and their football programs, but ultimately U of M is the best college that the state of Michigan has to offer. …show more content…

They are demonstrated every day on campus, after graduation, and at athletic events. For example, the school statue, sparty, is a statue that has been apart of the spartan community for a long time. Michigan State published “Traditions” that claims that “ Popularly known as "Sparty," the statue remains one of the favorite photo subjects of campus visitors” (1). This statue helps MSU fans have and show their school spirit and is an iconic piece on campus that every sparty fan can enjoy. In addition Michigan State’s marching band is a substantial part of the football games. “Traditions” discloses that the MSU marching band is one of the most recognized college marching bands and has entertained and left people wanting more (1).
