The evolution of baseball like many other evolutions of our time has been drastic and is continuing as we speak. Prior to 1940 baseball had many rule changes, equipment modifications, and strategy innovations. To name just a few pitchers were banned from “soiling” a ball in 1908, shin guards were introduced in 1908, in 1920 all “freak” deliveries were outlawed such as the spitball, and in 1925 pitchers were first allowed to use a resin bag. These new changes in baseball were just a few of the many events and rule changes that occurred prior to the 1940’s. The first rule change that I will write about is the 1920 rule where umpires were required to change the ball out of the game when it became dirty and how the spitball and other quirky pitches

Slowpitch and fastpitch softball are similar in many things but have several differences. For these softball teams, each of them plays on a diamond shaped field with four bases. Also, two teams play against each other to see who will win.
Unfortunately, numerous individuals confuse baseball and softball to be quite similar, but the two sports are extremely diverse. If one is a male, one will play baseball and if one is a female, one will play softball. Dissimilarities in baseball and softball include: pitching, the bat, and the game, but these dissimilarities are also somewhat similar. The similarities are where one could get reasonably confused with the two sports. The pitching performance is perhaps the most observable dissimilarity between baseball and softball.

Anyone who has attempted to play baseball understands the difficulty behind the seemingly easy tasks. The skill required to throw, run, is unmatched in any other major American sport to this day. Baseball as a sport has grown to captivate a wide audience and professional following. According to a data collection website , an estimated 13.39 million people participate in baseball in the United States.
Softball and Baseball Major League Baseball, a so called professional organization, is one of the oldest from four major sports leagues in the United States and Canada. Although, Softball may not have a major league like Baseball it does in fact have a National Pro Fastpitch League. Baseball and softball may have a lot of similarities but they have just the same amount of differences. While baseball is played by males, softball is played by females and there are many more differences including the techniques used by the pitcher, the equipment used (balls and bats), and the size of the fields.
Ready? Let's take the field. Field Differences: One obvious difference between baseball and softball are the sizes of the fields. Softball fields are quite a bit smaller. The general layout is the same as far as the infield, outfield, and bases are concerned.
The first reason softball is harder than baseball is because of hitting. Most college softball pitchers pitch the ball up to 70 mph from 37 feet away, from that distance it takes the ball 0.35 seconds to cross the plate. Most MLB pitchers reach speeds of 100 mph from 60 feet away, from there it takes the baseball 0.38 seconds to cross the plate. The decision time for the batter in softball is only .025 seconds which is 55% less time than an MLB player. In baseball

Firstly, baseball requires a higher level of physical endurance and stamina than softball. Baseball games are longer and often involve more innings than softball games. The dimensions of a baseball field are also larger than those of a softball field. As a result, baseball players are required to cover more ground, run longer distances, and throw the ball farther. Moreover, the pitching distance in baseball is 60 feet, while it is only 43 feet in softball.
As baseball is considered to be a great American past time, football is our present time. Many similarities and differences appear to the fans who watch these two sports. Most people think football is a sport that is rugged and dirty while baseball is simple and clean. Football and baseball are both All-American sports. Between the players, mindset, and amount of games there are known differences but also some unknown.
Baseball is a sport that has been played in the United States for over 150 years. The origins of baseball can be traced back to a variety of ball games played in Europe, including rounders, cricket, and stoolball. These games were brought to North America by British colonists in the 18th century, where they were played in various forms. The modern game of baseball is often credited to Abner Doubleday, a Civil War veteran who allegedly invented the sport in Cooperstown, New York, in 1839. However, there is little evidence to support this claim, and most historians believe that baseball evolved over time from earlier ball games.
One reason why softball is more difficult than baseball is because of the smaller fields. Softball was first created as indoor baseball. Meaning it was a way for baseball players to maintain their skills during the winter, and was called indoor baseball during the time.
