OKLAHOMA CITY-- The Mountaineers out hit the Sooners 11 to four. Sophomore designated hitter Kyle Davis went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI. Junior catcher Ray Guerrini and freshman shortstop Jimmy Galusky each had two hits.
They hit one of our best pitchers and they earned that one. We struck out 13 times in that second game,
With the bases loaded and no outs, Brandon White hit into a double play that tied the game. Gray followed with a single through the
Standing in the batter’s box, I twirled the bat once and placed it on my shoulder. As my heart thumped and sweat rolled down my cheek, I raised the bat and exhaled. The score was 6–6 in the bottom of the seventh inning; our team had two outs and the bases were loaded. With the weight of the game on my shoulders, I waited anxiously for the pitch. The softball whipped furiously through the air until it came to a sudden halt; the ball had crashed into my thigh.
The game stood 1 to 1 with one out in the fourth when the Redlegs's Pat Duncan lined a hanging curve to right field for a single. The next batter, Larry Kopf, hit an easy double play ball to Cicotte, but the Sox pitcher hesitated, then threw high to second. The runner at second was out, but the double play wasn’t possible. Greasy Neale and Ivy Wingo followed with singles, scoring the Redlegs' second run. Then the Reds' pitcher, Dutch Reuther, drove a triple to left, scoring two more.
At the conclusion of a postseason that saw more home runs than ever before, a few upsets and fanatical fan bases, an unbelievable World Series came to an end on Wednesday. The high number of postseason home runs kept leaving parks in a Series packed with crazy comebacks, high and low scoring games, stolen bases for tacos and even a marriage proposal. With all that wackiness, did this year’s World Series featuring the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers somehow surpass the drama from last year’s World Series between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs? Some fans and pundits speculated that Game 2 of the Dodgers-Astros series was the greatest World Series game of all time with six combined home runs coming after the ninth inning of Houston’s
In both games, the Dodgers scored 13 runs and the Astros scored a whopping 18. Game 5 was the most exciting game as both teams combined scored 25 runs,Compared to the average baseball score, which is 8 runs a game. That's an amazing 17 runs apart! Game 5 of the World Series was in the history books.
Another day at Fenway. The Boston Red Sox are trailing the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 and Mookie Betts (The Red Sox Right Fielder) comes to the bat for the first time tonight due to a sore arm. Bronson Arroyo (Reds Pitcher) throws a wicked curveball that is almost impossible to hit. But Mookie knew that this ball was long gone. Arroyo thought he was gonna strike out Mookie
Chicago had won the next couple of games and lost some as well. During game eight gambler Arnold Rothstein was worried about his investment as he had betted that Cincinnati would win the whole thing. So to protect this he sent his hitch men to go talk to pitcher Lefty Williams. They told him to throw the game. They wanted that series to end that night.
Cicotte was once again pitching in game 4 and he did not want to look as bad as he did in the first game. The first few innings him and the opposing pitcher Jimmy Ring matched zeros. With only one out in the 5th, Cicotte fielded a soft ground ball and made a horrible throw to first base and the runner advanced to third. The next man up had a base hit to centerfield and Cicotte cut the ball off instead of it going straight to home and let the runner score. The Reds won the game 2-0 and lead the series 3 games to 1.
On Wednesday, July 22th the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves to avoid being swept. Dodgers pitcher Mike Bolsinger relied almost exclusively on his curveball, which frustrated the Braves enough into yelling that Bollinger wasn 't courageous enough to use his fastball. The Atlanta braves got the first run of the game in the third inning when Cameron Maybin drove in a run with a groundout. Braves pitcher Julio Theheran struck out 7 of the first 10 batters he faced until running into problems in the fifth inning. Yasmani Grandal led off the inning with a double, then Alberto Callaspo singled driving in Grandal.

The American League and Japan League has many similarities and differences. In this essay we will be talking about how they are alike and different. They are both really good at the sport, but they have some ups and downs in the game. For instant Japan could be better at hitting and America(MLB) could be better at fielding(Drew, Davidson). The Japan League has less teams and players than the American League(Steve, Trautlein).
The thing I liked so much about the eight run outburst last night was the manner in which they did it. They showcased some pop with a Fielder homer and a double in the gap by Choo. But that isn 't a surprise to anyone who watched the Rangers this year as they have always had the ability to hit the ball out of the ballpark. What I loved was the ability to go station to station, which is vital come late September and October. What is possibly better than winning an important game and gaining ground in the AL West?
The twins had jumped out to a lead early on, and the fans were especially excited. The place was never quiet as the fans were all having a great time. As one of the more hated players in all of baseball, Alex Rodriguez, came up to bat the fans kept booing him. As they did this every time he came up to bat. Unfortunately for the Twins he hit three home runs in the same game, and lead the yankees to a 9th inning comeback win.
