Introduction The claimed sources of information gives credibility to the information which can either be verifiable or not verifiable. For instance, the Pluto is bigger than the moon; this is a credible claim because it has scientific evidence. On the other hand, the day is longer than the night; I don’t think this is a credible claim because we cannot establish the source of the information. This same effect is applicable to media, some media houses are credible based on their track record and people’s opinion while others are struggling. CNN news went in depth with each of their stories, explained and analyzed why or what sparked up the issue, and reasons why some of the things in the story happened. For example, on the train accident, CNN showed pictures and video of the location from the takeoff point to the point of accident. Furthermore, CNN used animation to simulate the accident and suggested the probable cause of the accident. With that being said, it is very easy for us to view the news as a non-credible source of information but in actuality, most news networks do a great job in trying their best to be as credible as possible. All the reporters were credible on each news story they were delivering, but the CNN reporters where more credible because they went beyond reporting the story. They analyzed the story as well and gave the listeners a sense of understanding on the topic/story they were reporting. They provided experts and factual evidences to back up their stories.
