As you can tell from my examples both characters, Elie Wiesel and Atticus Finch are courageous. It may be in different ways, with Elie going through physical pain and Atticus being more of a mental/verbal challenge, but in the end, it’s all courage. Hence there is courage in both Night and To Kill A Mockingbird. Both characters knew that they were most likely going to be conquered, they had nearly no chance of overcoming their problems, yet they both put forth their full effort until the
Person vs society Society is biased against Atticus Finch, Tom Robinson and Dolphus Raymond. Atticus is judged and criticized for defending a black man while Tom Robinson is hated for being accused of raping a white woman and Dolphus Raymond is judged for the way he acts drunk as he hangs out with the Black Community.

An innocent black man, a selfless lawyer, and a misunderstood recluse all face the overwhelming prejudice and stereotypes of Maycomb County, which affects the way in which they live. Each man plays a pivotal role in the society of Maycomb County, and although they each live divergent lifestyles, they are all mockingbirds in their own unique way. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee compares Atticus Finch, Tom Robinson, and Boo Radley to mockingbirds to show that innocent men are victims of society’s prejudice.
As I read To Kill a Mockingbird I couldn’t help but notice the similarities of Atticus Finch and my pastor, Scott Bollinger. I wanted to experience how it felt to be in Atticus’s skin. I feel that Pastor Scott portraits similar characteristics to Atticus. Both Atticus and Scott seem very humble, soft spoken, display a calm demeanor, and turned the other cheek to avoid quarrels. These men respect everyone without reflecting on color, class or gender.
Did Atticus Finch make the right choice defending Tom Robinson? To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is about a small town in Alabama where prejudice in the system is a constant occurrence. However, later in the novel a well-respected Lawyer, Mr. Atticus Finch. He goes on to confront the court on their misconstrued point of view and oblivion, while defending Mr. Tom Robinson in his case against the towns disgrace; the Ewells, on their accusation of Tom raping 19 year old, Mayella Ewell.
Atticus Finch, one of the most criticized men throughout Maycomb Alabama. Yet also one of the most well respected. He was very courageous. Throughout the novel he showed courage again and again.
Every day in our lives, heroes are all around us. They may not be what society tells us is a hero, like Superman or Batman. They do not wear fancy costumes or have super powers. But these heroes change the lives of the people around them, for the better. Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird is the charismatic, understanding father of Scout and Jem Finch as well as a hard working lawyer in Maycomb County, Alabama.
At a first glance, Atticus Finch, and Bob Ewell, both characters from Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” novel, don’t have a thing in common, but they do. Like most people, Atticus and Bob have similarities and differences in the way they live their lives and the way they treat others around them. The novel takes place in the “tired old town” of Maycomb Alabama in the years of 1933-1935. The way Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell treat the people around them, such as their family, and the people in town differs between the two of them, but there are some similarities Atticus treats his children, Calpurnia, and the town well, but the way he treats his sister is a little different from everyone else. Atticus is a lawyer and for that reason, he tries to treat everyone as fairly as he can, without race and social status.
In the book To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus Finch give life lessons to his kids. He does that by saying to them and then they kinda figure it out as they go. “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” This is one that I found was need to help Scout Finch learn some lessons. He is trying to tell his daughter that you can’t just judge people on how they act.
Atticus Finch, the best lawyer in the maycomb, was sitting nervously in his chair as he waited for the town judge to arrive in court. Tom Robinson, Tom client was very scared, He didn’t know what to do if he went to jail. Atticus is looking nervous also. He don’t know if he can back up his own story to keep Tom out of jail. There waiting on the judge to show up and every second is more and more scary for both of them.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, is a novel that takes place in a small segregated southern town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the 1930s. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is set in the impoverished neighborhood; Molching, in Nazi Germany during the 1940s, under the rule of Adolf Hitler and around the escalation of World War II. Both novels; deeply moving, and thought-provoking, reveal the irrationality and destructiveness of prejudice. These novels describe the chaos that is caused by a hatred of others, due to shallow and ludicrous circumstances, such as the color of one's skin, religion, or nationality. It ultimately reveals the fear of people who are different.
To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view-until you limb into his skin and walk around in it.” Whose shoes might I be interested in walking in? After considering my options, I chose Pamela Matthews. She is an accountant at the CPA firm of Lawing Matthews and Company, PA. I am a big math geek and she has a job that requires a lot of math skills and techniques.
Two books looked back on now as classics in literature are To Kill a Mockingbird and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. These books both allow the voice of a child to show through in American Literature. There are many similarities between characters in these books, however, the most similar characters are probably Jem Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird and Huck from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. To Kill a Mockingbird and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn both rank pretty high up on lists of banned or censored books around the world. This is because of the voice of reason and social justice.
Nabeela Ati Atcha Mrs.Fraser English 9, period 5A 09 March 2023 Atticus was never a hero A hero isn’t someone who refuses to say racial slurs nor lets women do whatever they want with their bodies without enforcing misogynistic ideologies. Atticus Finch, a beloved character praised and beloved by readers of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, is seen as a character with outstanding morals and heroic qualities, even so, there's individuals that despise Atticus Finch. A notable one would be Christopher Mettress in his article “The rise and fall of Atticus finch” he views Atticus’s character as an apathetic ,crude and despicable man who is not worthy of the title of hero.
