Creationists and Evolutionists Theories In order to give a clear explanation of our thesis statements, we must talk about a very important argument that supports it; this one is based on different theories and points of view of the evolutionary sciences and human origins, such as: Young Earth and Old Earth Creationists, Theistic Evolutionists and Evolutionary Theists. The Young Earth is a type of creationism that states that the universe and the earth were created between 6,000-10,000 years ago. It has both a biblical and scientific perspective, the first one based on the book of Genesis and the second based on scientific discoveries. Even though there are two perspectives, their belief is the same. In this theory, it is believed in the 24 …show more content…

We will start with the Theistic Evolution, which holds that God used the process of evolution to create life. About this theory, God created the laws of nature, but there are two postures that are controversial; one of them believe that God didn´t have an active participation following up the laws of nature; the other posture believe that God have an important role making the laws of nature work correctly. Other of the Evolution Theories is the Evolutionary Theists, which states that the divine creates indirectly through evolutionary processes with any intervention in the laws of nature. They think that in the Sacred Book, the ways of creation are not specified. In conclusion, the Creationist Theories of Young and Old earth are both complicated and controversial. One little detail is that, from the perspective of science, the age of the universe and its Creator cannot be proved exactly, this leads to a polemic topic, having different theories and postures with various perspectives of the Bible and scientific discoveries. Also, there is obvious opposition between these two, but they have something in common, you don't have to stop being Christian to believe in any of these …show more content…

Starting by this strong dogma of the genesis, we have the position of one of the most important evolutionists in Christianity. Pierre Tailhard de Chardin who established a concept of creation called Christogenesis. This means that Christ was there since the very beginning. Creation of the cosmos, planets, life, etc. and there has always been a state of consciousness through all this process of the Mutational Mind. “For Tailhard evolution meant a movement towards more complexified life forms in which, at critical points, qualitative differences emerged.” (Ilia Delio, Georgetown University, 2012) For this posture of evolution and Christianity, the world was unfolding and moving from Matter, to life, to mind, to spirit. God was in every stage of the process and he created more complex forms in every single step. So this means that evolution exists but it is entirely governed by a dynamic spirit The universe is about god, not god about the universe. Is the present consciousness of God that allows us to be here right
