“Whether we like it or not, the actions of policy-makers, public service professionals, markets and our fellow citizens around us have big, and often unintended, impacts on our behavior” (Dolan, 2014). There is many ways in which policy makers can make policies that the people will want and need but the main way is to listen to the needs and wants rather than to make policy based on their own personal agendas or that of those that lobby to them. Most are under the assumption that “government policies are intended to solve or at least cope with major social and economic problems” (Milakovich & Gordon, 2013, p. 375-376). George Fredrickson and Charles Goodsell both took surveys/polls about what the public thought about the government activities and performance in some of its administrations and cited their conclusions. Fredrickson said that “people trust and even revere those government officials who are near at hand” (Cook, Brian J, 2014, p. 4) but they believe that those “who are far away are lazy, incompetent and probably dishonest” (Cook, Brian J, 2014, p. 4) . Goodsell came to the conclusion that “citizens views of government as an abstraction are influenced by the cultural myth that government fails” (Cook, Brian J, 2014, p. 4) and that their views are based on their own direct experiences. Pubic administration since its conception has gone through many changes and it will continue to change as the world changes, it has become a field of study that will be never-ending and it will have to be flexible enough to move forward in order to continue with its goals and purposes for being there to begin with. It also needs to be steadfast in being effective and efficient in serving those that it represents, it needs to move forward with strong values and ethics and be held accountable at all times all the while still have the ability to protect the Constitutional rights that we the people are entitled
