Prince is a director who was born on January 30, 1928. Prince, now eighty-seven, was also born in New York. His mother was a housewife and his father was a stockbroker, but when he was very young his parents divorced and amazingly his mother remarried another stockbroker. Prince was an only child in an upper-class family that was German-Jewish. Prince had a father named Milton Prince, Prince’s mother was named Blanche Stern .At the age of seven his theater loving grandma would take him to box seats in the metropolitan opera, and graduated from the Franklin School. Once out of school he started to study theater using the public library in New York. Prince soon on after went to the University of Pennsylvania. When he graduated he started to write plays and sent them to produces all around New York. After one such play was sent out he was recommended to George Abbot, and so began their illustrious friendship which would last a lifetime. While on service he often visited a night club in which the future would be his inspiration for his hit musical Cabaret. With two years in the military Prince was discharged and immediately went back to work for Abbot, and in less than a year he started to learn the directing art from Abbot himself. Prince was greatly influenced by George Abbot, and went on to learn a great deal from him. Though learning from Abbot, Prince, separated with him after six shows with him directing, and started to create his own separate directing
