Shakespeare Essay Some people think that teaching Romeo and Juliet in the ninth grade is too hard or deep. Some people think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the ninth grade to learn life lessons. My view on teaching Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the 9th grade because it is a good coming of age story and helps learn about life. One reason I think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in ninth grade is because it helps young students to learn about life such as love, and how it can destroy or help someone in love. It is also relevant to teenage boys and girls that are going through problems in the 9th grade.
In the first stave of Charles Dickens’ story, A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge didn’t have much enthusiasm for Christmas. He didn't like people mentioning it and curse the ones who did. He found no reason to be merry and celebrate. But, after being visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, and the three spirits of Christmas, Scrooge becomes a changed man. To the Ghost of Christmas Future, he makes a promise that he will honor Christmas whole heartedly and will try to be better all year round.
Teenage behavior has not changed in over five hundred years. The behaviors portrayed in Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare are very similar to the behaviors of the average teenager today. The teenage brain takes years to become fully developed which is why teens make impulsive decisions, express new emotions, and have rebellious behaviors as shown in Romeo and Juliet. Teenagers are impulsive when making decisions because of the unawareness of consequences that their decisions could result in.
One might see young love as a learning experience, while others may view it as an awaiting heartbreak. Many people assume that young love never lasts because couples have flaws and imperfections they have not learned to resolve. In the story, “Romeo and Juliet”, William Shakespeare reveals Romeo and Juliet’s flaws. Romeo and Juliet’s toxic passion for each other ended just as one would expect. The couple had a lack of experience in relationships and displayed love powerfully.
Romeo and Juliet's immaturity leads to severe consequences not only for themselves but also for those around them. Their inability to consider the long-term effects of their choices ultimately contributes to the heartbreaking downfall of the young lovers. Lacking life experience and emotional maturity, Romeo and Juliet make spontaneous decisions that result in negative outcomes for themselves and those in their lives. Following Mercutio's death, Romeo encounters Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, shortly after marrying Juliet. Despite his newfound connection to Juliet and a desire to maintain peace, Romeo becomes consumed by anger and acts impulsively without contemplating the consequences.
Romeo and Juliet: Common Teenage Behaviors All teenagers act in a way which is unexplainable. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the teenage characters act very irresponsibly. Throughout the years, scientists have tried to research why teens act in such a troublesome way, and they may have just found the answer. The characters in the play support this research in many different ways. Characters such as Romeo, Tybalt, and Juliet act in a way that is very teenage-like.
Adolescents are oftentimes blamed for their wrongdoings while adults stand back and show their disapproval. Adults are generally seen as much wiser than adolescents, therefore more likely to make rational choices. However, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet demonstrates otherwise. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love story ending with the two young lovers taking their own lives. Their disastrous end is not to blame on their actions, but rather the unwise behaviour of the adults.

Romeo shows his love for Juliet in many special and heroic ways throughout the story.

Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, originally published in 1597. It is a tragedy of two star-crossed lovers, who fall in love with each other despite their families hate. The play is taught in many schools and it is often coupled with a movie adaption of the play. There have been many movie adaptations of Romeo and Juliet done and yet there are only a few out of the five I have watched that I would recommend. The top one that I would recommend is the 1968 version, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
