During Voltaire’s life, he wrote various philosophical works or essays, theater productions, poetry and critical essays. Voltaire was considered one of the greatest philosophers of the French Enlightenment. He published the first encyclopedia with partners Rousseau Diderot and d’Alembert. In 1764, Voltaire published his most important work, Dictionnaire Philosophique. “Our wretched species is so made that those who walk on the well-trodden path always throw stones at those who are showing a new road,” was one quote from the Dictionnaire Philosophique that expressed Voltaire’s critical opinion on human behavior .
