The movies Brave and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are both about a Princess, who overcome their adventure. In the movie Brave, Merida is a princess of the clan Dunbroch, with a personality of high spirited teenager. Snow White, on the other hand, is a princess living with her step mother the evil Queen. Snow white’s story starts with her living under the Queen dressed as a servant. While the Queen tried to kill her out of jealousy, Snow White runs away to a cottage where she meets the seven dwarfs and later when the Evil Queen tries to kill her with a poison apple the Prince shows up and awakes her from her eternal sleep. While Merida wants to be a woman who can protects herself. Her mother want Merida to be the perfect wife, and marry into a another kingdom. Merida runs away after fighting with her mother and asks for the impossible to a witch, who then grants her wish. Merida is a young teenage girl who knows how she wants to live her life. She has a strong sense in who she is and what potential she has. While Snow White does not seem to care about herself, she lets the Queen take control of her life. Snow White dresses in rags and cleans the castle, while the Queen dresses in her gown and talks to the mirror to reassure her beauty. Merida also tries to partake in the male gender role, shooting bow and arrows, riding a horse, knowing how to protect herself in danger.
