Shakespeare Essay Some people think that teaching Romeo and Juliet in the ninth grade is too hard or deep. Some people think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the ninth grade to learn life lessons. My view on teaching Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the 9th grade because it is a good coming of age story and helps learn about life. One reason I think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in ninth grade is because it helps young students to learn about life such as love, and how it can destroy or help someone in love. It is also relevant to teenage boys and girls that are going through problems in the 9th grade.

In the book Romeo and Juliet, we have learned that the opinions of marriage, are different among most people. Many parents have different opinions as well. Some are willing to give their son or daughter away at a really young age. Others are more sceptical about it. These parents want to keep care of their child for as long as they can.
From the time Juliet was a baby, her father was searching to find the perfect man to marry her. He had considered, age, last name, and most importantly, social status. He felt his daughter deserved to marry a rich man, of appropriate age, and would not even consider Romeo’s family, the Montagues, because of the families’ feud. Meanwhile, all Juliet wanted to do was marry Romeo, her true love. She even tells her parents in act III, scene v “He shall not make me there a joyful bride…I will not marry yet; and when I do, I swear it shall be Romeo…”
The Reality of Romeo Romeo a kind, noble sir. Romeo is a character that is more realistic to today's audience. Romeo shows heroism and compassion all through the play. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, is supposed to be a tragedy it shows how love was won, but by hurt and sadness that was done. Romeo shows his love for Juliet in many special and heroic ways throughout the story.
Age plays a significant role on decision-making not only in Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but also in modern times. In the play, Romeo and Juliet are only young teenagers which influences on making childish and no-thought decisions. This is shown In Act 2 where Romeo is depressed because Rosaline, who he had confessed his love to has rejected him, and refuses to crash the Capulet’s party. It’s not until his friends Mercutio and Benvolio force him to go when he lays his eyes upon Juliet and proceeds to forget about his love and fall in love with Juliet instead.
(I, v, l.140-141). She decides her love is more importnat than her family and muses to Romeo, “Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” ( II, ii, l. 34-36) She still pursues and has intentions to continue her relationship as she says "this bud of love, by summer’s ripening breath, may prove a beauteous flower when next we meet."

Juliet matured in more ways than Romeo, she went from being an obedient, innocent child to being a independant, courageous adult. They both matured almost immediately after they met. They made many sacrifices in order to be together, which caused them to grow up and they risked their lives for each other.
She is able to deceive the Nurse from suspecting that she fell in love with Romeo. Furthermore, Juliet struggles with another problem when her parents decide that she was to marry the Count Paris when she was already married to Romeo. When Juliet refuses to marry Paris, she states, “I will not even marry yet, and when I do I swear it shall be Romeo, whom you know I hate, rather than Paris.” (III.v.126). She is not obedient to her parents like she used to.
She did decided to take it in the end so she could be with romeo. She chose Romeo over her own family, because she loved him so great and she knew should would not marry paris so this was the only thing she thought she could do. It wasn 't, she could 've told her father everything that had happened in the past with Romeo. But she did not she kept it a secret and had to lie to her father by faking her death.
