The short story “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst informs us that compassion comes easily to someone who is less advanced than others. In the beginning, Doodle had many disabilities growing up as a kid. When he got older Brother decided to teach him how to walk. Once his family knew about these disabilities they built him a coffin knowing that he wouldn't make it far in life.
