Music soothes the ears and minds of stressed people; however, scientists can’t determine whether people identify the lyrics. Taking the time to analyze a song’s meaning can help a person learn more of the song and the singers perspectives. In the song, Ashes of Eden, by Breaking Benjamin the singer demonstrates a compatibilist perspective on life and future outcomes. Firstly, a compatibilists perspective believes that humans have free will when there is no force that pushes the psychological agent that is beyond one’s control. In the song, the singer questions, “Will the faithful be rewarded, when we come to the end…” This quote demonstrates that he has morals, which leads to having the options of choosing between wrong and right. In addition,
