In the story "Night," the narrator allows the readers to have a glimpse into the lives of those who lived through concentration camps. We can see how the narrator uses language to convey his devastation at becoming an inmate in the concentration camp through repetition and metaphors. Throughout the story, there is one phrase that is constantly repeated. The story "Night" opens with "never shall I forget," and that specific line is repeated many times. The phrase being said over and over relays the message of the emotional impact that the concentration camps had on the narrator. The narrator could never forget what he went through and saw, including "moments that murdered my God," which show the heavy devastation and horror concentration camps
