Saturday, May 9, 2015 I attended a concert featuring my favorite R&B artist by the name of Ginuwine. This concert was located at Riverside Theater in downtown Milwaukee. The concert was named One Night Stand and also included two other R&B sensations by the name of Tank and RL who was a member of a group called Next. The concert setting was very intimate. The artist made it a point to connect with their fans and even went as far as getting into the crowds. It was low lit lighting with shades of red and burgundy. There was a very sexy vibe to this event being that it was geared toward women. Tickets had to be purchased to attend this event. Ginuwine performed a lot of his major hits from 1996 through 2011 in order of release. This was my first time seeing these gentlemen in concert so everything was new to me. It was very exciting being that I haven’t been to a concert since I was 12 years old. I was very surprised when RL jumped off the stage and into the crowd and even Tank gave out money to women for mother’s day which I thought was very sweet. The style of music performed was R&B love songs. It was also a more romantic style of R&B. What I like to call real R&B. The historical period represented the twentieth/twenty-first century period. These artists have a great way with words when it comes to singing to a woman to make them feel good and I think that is what good R&B is about. It’s about making someone feel loved or feel like they love the person they are with. It makes you feel good inside! One of my favorite songs by Ginuwine that he sung is called Differences. This song was written by Ginuwine in 2001. The mood of this song is sultry, romantic, and sentimental. I liked that the artist really took pride in giving the audience a great show.
