I understand that Confirmation is an honor and I am blessed to go through this Sacrament. My name is Pablo Izquierdo and I am writing to you about my experience in the Confirmation process. I attend the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Sparks, Nevada. Holy Cross has given me the opportunity to become connected with the Holy Spirit and I can say this experience has brought me closer than I was with the Holy Spirit, Church, and God at the beginning of this process. I grew up Catholic, my mother was the biggest influence on my faith. She learned her faith from her mother, which has been a source of spiritual knowledge fro me to. She pushed me to go to church every Sunday and encouraged me to pray every day and night to show my gratefulness to God. Growing up, I never fully understood my faith until I went into my Confirmation class. The most pivotal moment in my spiritual education was the First Confirmation Retreat at Bishop Manogue High School, which first of all, was an amazing campus and makes me wish I went there to immerse myself in my religion and education. Second of all, it was just a sensational spiritual trip. I was surrounded by my pers who shared the same beliefs as me and I felt like I could talk to and relate with everyone in the building. They had plenty of activities that helped me understand my faith. I came out of the retreat a new person; I realized that there are many of my peers that feel the same way about God that I do, it was comforting knowing that there are people in the community trying to push other to discover their faith. Most of all, from the retreat I learned to love God no matter what others say about it, in the end it will just be God and I and everyone else won’t
