I am very happy that I learned a lot my first month interning at the office of Congresswoman Kathy Castor, therefore I stopped feeling nervous while interning. I now feel a lot more confident, and more comfortable being at the office, the staff at the office is very friendly, kind which were all important factors to make me feel comfortable at the office. I really like the fact that the office is well equipped to assist any constitute that comes seeking assistance. The office’s staff is large, with several caseworkers, several office assistants, and several Interns as well. I have grown to truly admire the aspect of many employees that work in the office, because it has proven to be extremely efficient for the Congresswoman. The Congresswoman believes very strongly that House Republicans are wasting tax payers’ funds by creating a committee is a direct attack on women’s health. The Congresswoman advised House Republicans to return to business that she feels needs to be accomplished such as working towards funding education, healthcare and supporting America’s military missions. In result of Congresswoman Castor’s comments regarding the House select committee, many constitutes who were against her comments called the office a lot this week. I was extremely dumbfounded that even when a constitute called the office cursing, and stating graphic comments in their description of Planned Parenthood. That they were treated with respect, and their concerns were written, to be eventually heard by the Congresswoman herself. I admired the fact that even when individuals have completely opposing beliefs, that our political process allows that, and even welcomes
