I felt trapped.
Trapped in between the books, the lines, and the words. No matter how hard I tried, I still could not escape from this prison – the library.
Looking through the windows, I saw kids running around the playground with big smiles on their faces in a glorious sunshine day. Yet here I was, walked through the aisles and picked out uninteresting books that have the least pages so that I could spend minimal time to finish my reading logs.

The theme of the book hooked me in. I was blown away when I found out there’s lots of similarities between my dog, Flash, and Marley. The book was like a shadow of mine. It followed me everywhere and told me stories about Marley. Slowly, it became part of me as I kept reading it whenever I had a chance. In addition, reading has not only helped me stay connected to the world and people around me, but it has also widened my knowledge on a variety of topics. While looking through the news, I was especially interested in crime scene investigation. I was practically fascinated about this topic that I spent an entire summer just reading books and news about crime and how the forensic scientists do what they have to do to help solve the mystery. I would imagine myself being one of the investigator and try to figure out the mystery as I read. After reading forensic science related books, it became clear to me that is what I want to do for my future. I am currently pursuing a chemistry major with the plans on doing forensic science. Reading has not only enriched my knowledge and imagination but also helped me to discover my career goal. When I have a book
