Choices and Consequences Antigone has a horrific tragedy. She puts the gods before anyone else, she is willing to do anything for her best interest. The book Antigone is about a girl that has been through a lot in her life. She has been in so many tragedies, which one of them are losing both of her brothers Polyneice and Eteocles. She had to bury Polyneice because her uncle Creon refused to give him a proper burrier because he believed he was a trader. She was caught burying Polyneice and was imprisoned. Antigone ended up taking her own life in prison. The movie I’m comparing to Antigone is Avatar. Avatar is the only last air bender alive. The Avatar is the only one that can master all four elements, which are water, earth, fire, and air. …show more content…

She wouldn’t care about laws of the man, as represented by Creon. Also seen divine support for Antigone when the storm rags outside of Thebes. Antigone’s wailing for the gods to destroy who ever has re-desecrated Polyneice body. Avatar relates to this because he was loyal to the people from the southern water tribe. The two siblings from the southern water tribe found the Avatar beneath the ice outside their village they carried him unconscious and placed him in a safe place at their village. When the Avatar returned normal the fire nomads came to the southern water tribe to take all the elderly from there and the avatar didn’t let them he showed the tattoo on his forehead that they believed he was something special and he told them that he would go with them only if they let the village people alone and they did. This is loyalty because he could of just left them hanging, and let them be hurt, but he choose not to and he returned the favor for saving his life. Third argument would be girl power. Antigone is a symbol of the feminine revolt. Antigone sacrifices her own life trying to stand up to the patriarchal society in which she’s imprisoned. “ Welcome light of the sun, fairest/sun that ever has dawned upon”(100-102). The Avatar is similar because he represented guy power. He was the last air bender alive and protected the people of the village from the fire
