The definition of abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. A woman who decides to have an abortion, may have many different and personal reasons to have one. Abortion is a big controversy on whether it should be legal or not.
One side, Pro-Life, believes abortion should be illegal because it is a crime of not giving a child a well-deserved life. Since a baby is said to be a God’s gift often, people think it is going against God by doing this. They believe that every life has a purpose behind it. Some of the people who are Pro-Life say no matter what, taking a life is murder. So they think abortion is considered murder.
The other side, Pro-Choice, isn’t Pro-Abortion, that means always choosing abortion over childbirth. Pro-Choice supports the pregnant woman’s decision on if she should have the child or not. They support women being able to choose

Some people may believe it is unethical. But it should not be illegal. Abortion should be an option for pregnant women and should not be frowned upon, it is their body and the woman should be able to decide what happens to her body, not others. The first reason abortion should be legal is because women have rights over their bodies. This means they get to make the decisions for their body and no one else does. In other situations, people can decide for themselves. For example, tattoos. As long as you are over 18, you can choose to get a tattoo. There is no reason a woman should be criminalized for choosing to do something with her body.
