In the classic drama Cool Hand Luke by Stuart Rosenberg, it may be argued that the insubordinate prisoner, Luke, is a cinematic representation of Jesus Christ. Luke’s personality and characteristics such as his willpower, being a nonconformist, and being an outsider all reflect traits that are associated with Christ himself. As he was put in the "box" he represented Christ physically. When Luke ate the fifty eggs he represented how Christ sacrificed everything for his people. Finally, when Luke and Dragline fight it shows how Christ was tortured for his beliefs and what he did. Luke is easily identifiable as Christ when he consumes the fifty eggs.
