In January, BTB will present a third study, “Life of the Kingdom Man.” In this video, Evans notes that a system of authority exists in God’s Kingdom. Christian men are under Christ’s authority and have a responsibility to fulfill. Doing that is the way to blessing for the Kingdom Man.

What does it mean to be a servant leader? Servant leaders are constantly focusing on the needs of others before their own. Servant leadership involves an individual demonstrating the characteristics of foresight, awareness, and commitment to personal growth toward others. Servant leaders act for the greater good, even when controversy has the possibility of rising. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks are excellent examples of this.
Leaders and followers have different paths in life and one is not always the right path. It is a life lesson to know when to be a leader and when to be a follower. We want to be able to influence people to do God's will, much of which requires a certain level of expertise in order to be effective (witnessing, teaching, discipling, etc.). This means that in the first place, the leader is concerned with the learning process, and how to bring about rapid and permanent learning. A child must learn to walk, talk, and feed herself. Christians must learn to pray, study, love others, admit sin etc. Vision has always been considered an important component in leadership, both in Christian and secular circles.
The definition of Servant Leadership as defined by Robert K. Greenleaf states that this is a person who is first a servant, and then a leader. He or she starts from the bottom and works their way up the ladder. These people are often focused other people’s priorities, they often share power with all and they are helping their followers or subordinates develop and mature so they can perform at their best. Jim Lovell is a great example of a servant leader.

The High Renaissance was a period in time (although some historians believe it to be a movement) where the Renaissance culminated. Servant leadership believes one should provide priority to others interest. Leaders should server others to meet their desires, needs and aspiration. Leaders should service and develop their employees (Nahavandi, 2015) leaders do not encourage leaders to go over and beyond to meet the need of the individual problems. Servant leadership listens, persuades, and give empathy during times of crisis. Authentic leaders adapt their style to the situation.
Regarding the impact that others in a meeting have on his decision making process, it is given to understand that he desires to know the heart and the motives behind the individual speaking before moving forward with any suggestions made. His concerns regarding this issue are that motives may be proliferated by traditionalists, resistant to change or by those seeking vain-glory, taking on many forms. In matters of job security, this pastor remains open to serve the Lord where He wants him to serve. As he said, “At the end of the day, God has not called us to be employed, but to be faithful.” Ultimately, this pastor in many ways still seeks to attain “a balanced view on all issues,” desiring to make educated decisions.

Over the last few weeks, leadership class has succeeded in getting me to think deeply about my life, who I really am and who I hope to be. This is good because it helps me put proper measures in place that will help me accomplish those goals. A servant leader, as we have discussed in class is one who is servant-first. His main aim is to serve his people and do what is best for the people around him, whether he is in a leadership position or not.
