In January, BTB will present a third study, “Life of the Kingdom Man.” In this video, Evans notes that a system of authority exists in God’s Kingdom. Christian men are under Christ’s authority and have a responsibility to fulfill. Doing that is the way to blessing for the Kingdom Man.
realized his leadership role and responsibilities for a cause greater than that of his single person. The chapter repeatedly mentioned how he had no intention of becoming a prominent leader after his testimony. However, his message and delivery was so powerful and inspirational that he converted his audience to his followers/supporters. I think this clearly shows how people willingly choose their leaders and decide who to follow. I believe a leader’s initial impression or leadership potential/qualities attract the attention of followers, then the followers are the ones who give leaders their influential
and these verses in mind. Keeping these things close to our hearts and minds will produce people who are focused on working for the greater good rather than themselves. These would be the ideal individuals to be in power, uncorrupted by selfish intent and humbly serving despite undesirable circumstances. Farmer didn’t let his position of power get to his head and even though he knew his illegal Freedom Rides led to his jail time, his work would ultimately serve the greater good. What does it mean to be a servant leader? Servant leaders are constantly focusing on the needs of others before their own. Servant leadership involves an individual demonstrating the characteristics of foresight, awareness, and commitment to personal growth toward others. Servant leaders act for the greater good, even when controversy has the possibility of rising. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks are excellent examples of this.
Inwards (2 Cor: 5:14, NIV) Apostle Paul places his goals in the correct prospective that all leaders in the kingdom of God need to encourage believers to get along. Apostle Paul asks God first how do I please you versus looking at him first wondering how Apostle Paul could be placed and asking God to realize later.ostle Paul take the next step by checking with his fellow man to make sure that he looks too serve then before servicing himself to assure that God is pleased by his actions (Crabb, pg. 26). Another goal of counselor’s is to assist clients to realize their self-worth by helping them find out who they are in God (Crabb, pg.71). A person is seeking assistance with finding acceptance, and security in their lives, along with finding agape love in for all of the guilt that works on the mind of the saints (Crabb, pg. 72).
Leaders and followers have different paths in life and one is not always the right path. It is a life lesson to know when to be a leader and when to be a follower. Mary Warren showed us this when things started getting out of hand and innocent people were dying because of Abigail 's actions, she branched out and became a leader to protect herself and the rest of the village. It also says that you should be valuing others more than you are valuing yourself. Psalm 37:5 reads “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this”. This verse states that if we trust in God, he will help us do what is difficult in our lives. God has used many different people to be leaders.
We want to be able to influence people to do God's will, much of which requires a certain level of expertise in order to be effective (witnessing, teaching, discipling, etc.). This means that in the first place, the leader is concerned with the learning process, and how to bring about rapid and permanent learning. A child must learn to walk, talk, and feed herself. Christians must learn to pray, study, love others, admit sin etc. Vision has always been considered an important component in leadership, both in Christian and secular circles.
The definition of Servant Leadership as defined by Robert K. Greenleaf states that this is a person who is first a servant, and then a leader. He or she starts from the bottom and works their way up the ladder. These people are often focused other people’s priorities, they often share power with all and they are helping their followers or subordinates develop and mature so they can perform at their best. Jim Lovell is a great example of a servant leader.

We should have an attitude to be like Christ’s in that we recognize others better than ourselves and do nothing out of vanity or selfishness. Servant leadership believes one should provide priority to others interest. Leaders should server others to meet their desires, needs and aspiration. Leaders should service and develop their employees (Nahavandi, 2015) leaders do not encourage leaders to go over and beyond to meet the need of the individual problems. Servant leadership listens, persuades, and give empathy during times of crisis. Authentic leaders adapt their style to the situation.
Regarding the impact that others in a meeting have on his decision making process, it is given to understand that he desires to know the heart and the motives behind the individual speaking before moving forward with any suggestions made. His concerns regarding this issue are that motives may be proliferated by traditionalists, resistant to change or by those seeking vain-glory, taking on many forms. In matters of job security, this pastor remains open to serve the Lord where He wants him to serve. As he said, “At the end of the day, God has not called us to be employed, but to be faithful.” Ultimately, this pastor in many ways still seeks to attain “a balanced view on all issues,” desiring to make educated decisions.
Because of his attribution to the New Testament as writing 13 books in the total of 27 books, Paul even considered himself “as little more than an ambassador or emissary for Jesus” (Powell, 231). Paul is the person who had oppressed the church. After that, on the road to Damascus, when he experienced a rendezvous with Jesus, he became a Christian missionary. Discussing particular theological issues, Paul’s epistles are written to a specific person or a specific group of people. Paul’s epistles are to Romans, two to Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, two to Thessalonians, two to Timothy, Titus, and Philemon.
This includes being a leader out in the world and in his home. “The Bible instructs men to lead their families and often refers to leadership as shepherding. God designed the church, in part, to equip men to do the work of the ministry, and ministry begins at home.” (Navey, 2014) Being a servant leader is a vital part of biblical manhood. Jesus is clear on how man should be a servant leader in Luke 22:25-26, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors.
Over the last few weeks, leadership class has succeeded in getting me to think deeply about my life, who I really am and who I hope to be. This is good because it helps me put proper measures in place that will help me accomplish those goals. A servant leader, as we have discussed in class is one who is servant-first. His main aim is to serve his people and do what is best for the people around him, whether he is in a leadership position or not.
