It was a hot, grueling day in my hometown of Midland, Texas. The temperature outside was one hundred and two degrees with about thirty percent humidity. As the final school bell rang to signal the end of the day, hundreds of students rushed outside into their vehicles to turn their air conditioning on. The football players all migrated towards their locker room. It was the beginning of hell for the Midland Lee Rebel Football
Possession was the one thing on everyone’s mind. Time was evaporating, the other team and their fans started to get optimistic. The buzzer announced the end of the competition and the roar from our opponents deafened cries from our team and our fans. We had lost the first game for our program in fourteen years.
The shooting of a Cache County Jail inmate that one Cache official said was an “uncomplicated case” which would only take a couple of weeks to complete is now in its fourth week. Details are still sparse concerning the Jan. 16 shooting that hospitalized an inmate who was shot will a non-lethal weapon. “He was not shot with a firearm but I can’t go into a lot of details,” said Lt. Doyle Peck, of the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. “It was a less lethal option, it was not life threatening in any way and he was given medical attention.” Cache County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy, Matt Bilodeau, said Peck’s two-week estimate was optimistic.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
My favorite sentence from this reading had to be, "The arms were in sad shape, because everybody was always sitting on them, but they were pretty comfortable chairs." (Salinger 18). In the short sentence, I furthermore get a glimpse of Holden's voice and personality, this time by seeing him contradict himself. He describes how sad looking and beat up the chair is, yet goes on to say how nice and comfortable it is. This to me is a very important clue to Holden's overall personality in regard to life.
LIVE FREE OR DIE “Mr Cornell, sir, there’s a letter here for you.” His secretary’s voice rang like church bells on a Sunday morning. He smugly pinched the letter from her hands and raised it to a readable distance. Sender read ‘IRS Criminal Investigation Division’, receiver read ‘Cornell Fabricators’.
In general, I don’t believe that juveniles can be born evil or bad. Environmental factors carry a lot of weight when it comes to how children develop and grow into adults. However, in the uniquely gritty case of Willie Bosket, I believe it’s safe to say that if there were ever a case of a child being “born bad”, then Willie definitely meets the mark. When looking back at his lengthy family history filled with extreme deviance and outright violence, you can quite easily see that Willie fits right into the mold that was created long before he was even born. I think that a lot of Willie’s violent and criminal tendencies were learned from what he was exposed to while growing up.
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.
Argumentative essay Most people have a group of people they hang around or are associated with. With this group of people they are called rednecks or hicks, Many people believe that rednecks actually have red necks usually it is people who don’t associate with them or are from another state, that is not the case here. When redneck is being used it is describing a group of people, who aren’t afraid to get muddy, or talk about the stock show. Although there are many unspoken rules for being a redneck, three of these rules are the most important.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
Months later, the sting of losing still haunted us. Summer came and no one dared to speak of the game, yet you could tell it burned in the back of our minds as we pushed ourselves harder than ever before. Attitudes and efforts changed. There was a sense of urgency inside of every

This next game would be one of the biggest games of our lives, and I could not wait. Thirty-four points was our margin of victory in the championship game. We went in focused, and got the results we wanted. We received a beautiful glass trophy for the team, and individual medals for the players and coaches. It took a lot of grit and determination to get to this point where we could win a national championship.
