At first surgery was implemented to help patients who are sick,but now with the advancements in cosmetic surgery people are able to change their physical appearance to meet the demands of society.Society forces people to neglect moral values when considering cosmetic surgery because the media portrays men and women as beautiful and that beauty is the most important aspect of a human being.The main claim for the support of cosmetic surgery is that the patient are happier and more confident after having cosmetic surgery.Even though cosmetic surgery makes the patient supposedly feel happier and more confident many health risks arise from cosmetic surgery.The Dalai Lama in his essay “Ethics and the new Genetics” ponders the effects of genetic engineering …show more content…
