It is considered a literary classical and is an extremely popular book, so it was later made into a movie produced by Literary Masterpieces in 1975. The second differences is that when Dantes comes back to shore Mercedes is there waiting for him, where as in the book Dantes is insistent to see his father first..The third difference is that Caderousse isn’t of drunk when he, Danglars, and Fernand write the letter framing Dantes as a Bonapartist. Another difference is that Dantes is arrested the day before his wedding instead of the day of his wedding. There are some differences when Dantes in in prison with Faria. Faria knew both Nortier and Villefort when he was in prison. Another difference was that Faria had a map instead of a letter. A difference when Dantes escapes from prison is that he doesn’t scream when he is thrown into the water. When Dantes is stranded into the ocean he is rescued by Bertuccio, who in the books is his servant. Another difference in his capture is that the boat he is rescued by a small two person boat. The two men are both smugglers. Another difference is that Dantes finds out that his father died from starvation from Jacopo instead of from Caderousse.
