Course Reflection

1. Reflect on the growth of your knowledge--pedagogical, content, and professional throughout this course.

I came into the class knowing very little about the variety of tools available for use in the classroom and the numerous applications of each. I now have a good understanding of each of the programs discussed in the course and have found numerous others because of the searches related to these applications. I came into this course believing that technology is a useful tool for student learning and this course has only strengthened that belief through the various applications and the ability to provide different styles of media to students in an easy way.

2. Describe the growth of your skills throughout this course.

This course has forced me to become more mindful of my presentation through assignments, like the IMW, Digital Story, and

Now, I start thinking of different ways technology can be used for students with special needs when I read about it on the web and add it to my list of tools for activities.

4. Recount specific examples of what you have learned and implemented from this course that have an impact on student learning.

The Digital Story activity has provided me with a creative way to introduce students to the concept of Citizenship. It allows them to understand the concept and the ideals of a U.S. Citizen by making Digital Stories about people they know in their life, this is more effective than just listing the rights and responsibilities they have from a textbook because it provides students with a real-world application of them and a research component that allows them to go deeper into topics that interest them.
