I On the evening of July 3rd, 1954, Sam and Marilyn Sheppard, husband and wife, were enjoying the company of another couple in their home. A little after midnight, Marilyn showed the couple to the door. The next morning, July 4th, Sam found Marilyn’s body in their bedroom after hearing her cry for help. II Sheppard claimed that after he discovered his wife’s body, he was hit on the head twice and knocked out by a "bushy-haired" attacker. When Sam came down the stairs, he again saw the bushy-form, and began to chase after it. After physically fighting the form, he again lost consciousness. When he awoke, he was without his t-shirt and watch. He then went inside to call the police. III Marilyn Sheppard, the wife of surgeon Sam Sheppard was murdered. Suspects included Sam Sheppard, Jim Call and Richard Eberling. There was no valid motive for any of these suspects, evidence just put them on scene at the time of the murder, except for Dr. Sheppard. It was revealed that he had a three-year long affair with Susan Hayes, a nurse at the hospital he worked at. VI When investigators arrived at the scene, they found Marilyn’s body in the bedroom, with her head faced towards the door. Her face was badly injured, with several cuts in her face and scalp. Her pajama top was pulled up to reveal her breasts, and one leg of her pajama bottoms was removed to show her pubis. She was pulled forward so that her legs were underneath a wooden post at the end of the bed.
