Cover Letter: A Career As A Psychology Major

Hi future self! I cannot believe you are reading this letter in the future that you wrote to yourself a couple of years ago. I know you had a difficult time choosing a major and sticking to it which leads me to my question, did you end up graduating as a Psychology and Criminal Justice major like you planned? As a Psychology major, I hope to learn how to help individuals overcome their problems. I have a passion for investigating crimes, doing everything in my power to solve crimes and find the criminal’s motive. Hopefully I can make the world or the community I will be living in a safer place. There is crime all around us, criminals are becoming more logical when it comes to the time and place they carry out the crime they do and the types of individuals they perform the act on. Do these motivations for the majors you are, still apply to you today? My career goals for the future is to be either a forensic psychologist or a psychologist for children. I want to graduate in the 5 year Psychology program, so I can graduate with my masters and bachelors degree. I am interested in Forensic Psychology because I have a desire to distinguish between the different types of criminals and figure out a way to put an end to individuals who commit crime. I want to be a child psychologist because I aim to study and understand how the mind develops through childhood.
