Dear Meredith,
I am writing to express my interest in the Academic Coach (Math, K-8) position. In my twenty-three-year career with the School District of Philadelphia, my leadership experiences have demonstrated that I can excel at all the essential functions and have the requirements needed to fill the position.
The position of Academic Coach requires many essential functions to be successful. The three I feel most important are supporting all stakeholders involved, complete understanding of the mathematical instruction curriculum and implementing change to make positive growth in and out of the classroom.
Supporting all stakeholders happens at four levels: students, teachers, leadership and caregivers. Students need to be supported with proficient instruction in the classroom. Being familiar with Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching and the Coaching Evaluation Rubric allows me to

In the classroom, teachers need feedback that puts them on a path for growth of their content and pedagogy. Being able to support with math Instructional Guides, Curriculum & Quarters-at-a Glance and Impactful Practice is part of the process to high impact on learning. My eighteen-year career experience in the classroom and as a Math School Based teacher Leader has giving me the experience to facilitate the process.
Leadership teams at the school level and leadership teams on a District level require to be part of the educational process for success. My current role allows me to engage with multiple communication streams to create liaisons with school and central office staff for support. These bridges that have been created can be transferred to the Academic Coaching role.
Caregivers are sometimes overlooked in the education process within schools. But they are a key part in the of the whole picture for positive change in the classroom. My communication skills would help build the rapport between students, staff and
