I wish to apply for the Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher position as advertised on the Education Department Job Board. After reading the job description I am confident that I possess unique qualities that would make me a real asset for Joseph Banks Secondary College and I am extremely excited about the possibly not only working at your school but also helping to grow a culture of curiosity. I am more than willing and able to teach in areas outside of HaSS and take on a variety of roles within your school. My own educational background places me in a unique position to do so. I started my journey to become in a teacher in 2012 when I enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) at Edith Cowan University. During my final practicum placement in a Year 3 class I realised that I was more suited to teaching middle school and secondary students, so I decided to enrol in the Master of Education (Secondary) program at UWA. However I completed all of the core curriculum units in the Gradate Diploma including Art, Music, P.E., Health, Mathematics, Science, English as well as HaSS, for year 1-7. Throughout both my Graduate Diploma and my Masters of Education degrees I have developed strong knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogical requirements across a range of learning areas and would enjoy the challenge of adapting this pedagogical knowledge to a years 8 – 10
