During my teaching at Saddleback, I has been actively involved with the Design Club as a faculty adviser helping students develop teamwork, gain leadership skills and self-confidence. My students have successfully competed in many design contests organized by ASID OC, IIDA, NEWH, IDEC, and Designers Lighting Forum of Los Angeles to name a few. Teaching at the community college, I have been exposed to extremely diverse student body and feel responsible for delivering knowledge to different types of learners. To maintain my expertise in current teaching discipline and technologies I use any opportunity to advance my knowledge. In 2013, I attended the IES Teachers of Lighting Workshop in Peachtree City, GA where enhanced my lighting knowledge. Most importantly, I am committed to improving community design education. During my teaching at the Saddleback College, I secured two grant funding to support technological and entrepreneurial development of our department and help students stay current in the chosen profession. In 2014-15, I actively participated in the program review and curriculum development while working together with full-time faculty.
