I am writing to apply for the position of adjunct professor of Urban Education with an emphasis educational leadership and policy studies in urban education. I am interested in the part-time teaching position that posted number 1070 on the U of H DT Job Information List. I obtained my doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Houston in December, 2015. My research interests in training teachers and administrators in urban school districts can enhance this program. Over the past seven years, I have worked as an administrator at Bellaire High School. Bellaire High School is the largest, diverse, and urban comprehensive high school in the Houston Independent School District. Bellaire has more than three thousand students. I have worked under many capacities: teaching in-services to new and current teachers, providing in-services to the administrative team, and mentoring new administrative interns and at-risk students.
