After graduating from my master’s program in May of 2017, I became state certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in North Carolina. I currently work for the Cumberland County School System. In my employment environment, I experience working with a diverse group of people, which allows me to evolve in my skills as a counselor. I am continuing to work hard to accumulate hours to earn my Licensed Professional Counselor license so that I can have the ability to work independently. One of my goals with receiving my independent license in combination with my doctoral studies would consist of being of service to future health care professionals by passing down knowledge and skills for them to become successful in their field of work in the community. Along with my education, I continued to enhance my knowledge through volunteering, and working part-time for my community. Some of my other volunteer work-site experiences were Connections of Cumberland County, College Lakes Elementary School, Spring Lake Counseling Center, and Southern Regional AHEC-Family Medicine Center.
