Thru my investigation, I found that the DSS began recruiting non-profit organizations in the community like La Alianza to fulfill its sociocultural gap; especially, racial and ethnic minorities to provide the welfare for the abused and neglected children in the state of Massachusetts. A collaborative relationship with La Alianza was established by DSS, with an intention to manage and offer better child welfare services. La Alianza was highly reputable at the time in fulfilling its mission. DSS hoped that La Alianza would close the cultural sensitivity gap they were struggling with in providing the childcare and family needs in the Hispanic community.
I did my Senior Project with Ireland Miller, and together we worked with Logan’s Promise. Logan’s Promise is an organization that spreads awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving. It was formed when a drunk driver was driving the wrong way on University Parkway and hit a car, filled with three Reitz students, head on. Two were badly injured and my brother, Logan Brown, was killed. From that horrific event Logan’s Promise was formed.
I volunteered at my local chapter for my senior year of high school. I got to work with the phenomenal staff at the chapter. I had the pleasure of meeting families who were very strong. This organization has a very favorable standing from my point of view. This is probably one of the best charities in the U.S. and around the world due to their timeless efforts to support families in need.
This program does tours to colleges and universities around the united states. Also they have the black church and hiv which is a program with faith leaders and religious institutions that help raise awareness to end the HIV epidemic in Black America. When you think of discrimination in america you should think of the NAACP because of the programs and the long history they have with standing up from people who are discriminated against. From standing up in court for african american rights to health programs the NAACP is the movement you should move with
I love meeting new people who share the same interests and passions as I do. It’s hard to explain just how much this program means to me. When I am older I hope to run for Kentucky State 4-H Teen Council President, and can contribute back to this amazing
Not only is it potentially saving a child’s life, in addition to making them feel important and loved something they are not used
My increased desire to become an Alpha Man has been driven by my lifelong history and encounters with many of my past educators that are Alphas. I grew up in a typical underrepresented environment that had a big impact on my everyday life, from drugs, gangs, and a lack of ambition. Somehow that changed when I went to school, there where men in my schools that looked the same as the ones in my community, but the way they dressed and carried themselves was different. I later learned they were men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Head Start helps many disadvantaged families each year. Through my interview with my friend, I learned that Head Start is very involved in the community and they want all staff to be involved in the community. The staff at Head Start are very dedicated to enriching the lives of children and their families. Their main goal is to educate the children and make their lives better by building a good foundation at an early age. I learned a lot of new information about Head Start and I am glad there are people that want to help these children and their families
Every year thousands of children are taken away from their families and promised a home full of joy and laughter. For most children, this promise is broken. They are placed in homes full of yelling and pain. Children end up in unloving and abusive homes. They are placed in danger every day because they have been placed too fast and without enough care.
The organization was originally founded by a Denver woman, a priest, two ministers, and a rabbi whose original purpose was to take cooperative action to address their city’s welfare problems. The founders
My interest in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. sparked when I met Sheila Hudson. At the time I had no idea that she was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. What I saw in Shelia Hudson was a smart, accomplished, proficient women who completely shattered all of my preconceived expectations of what I thought a sorority girl was supposed to be like.
This is one of many organizations that help improve and impact our community and everyone in
When considering the scenario about a parent requesting their toddler be fed instead of feeding himself because of their cultural beliefs my initial response would be to try to understand why the parent feels this way. Being empathetic to the parent’s wishes and putting myself in their shoes will help me to understand them better. I do not want to approach this situation like I know more than do or I am better qualified than they are. They are the family and the primary caretakers of the child so with any request they come to me with about their child, as a professional, I must approach the matter with care and respect. However, I want to understand why they made this request.
Throughout my years, I have always shown an interest in volunteering and building my community. This club allowed me to do that. I volunteered at the Naperville Festival and at Feed My Starving Children. Volunteering at the Naperville Festival allowed me to work on my communication skills because I help patrons buy tickets. This experience also showed me other events that Naperville offers.
They are helping by asking people to donate so they can gather funds and help families around the world. They are trying to meet with countries to review their laws on child labour. They also made many centers, near places that child labour happens the most. These centers has everything that a child needs to grow up. The facility has toys, friends, free food and a friendly environment.
