Since the beginning of time, sports have been a method for exercise and entertainment. Sports, such as baseball, basketball, and rugby, have been participated in by a myriad of the public and professional athletes. Rugby was originally the contact sport of choice until the rules were slightly altered and rugby was transformed into the magnificent game known as football. Today, football is one of the most acclaimed sports in history. Likewise, the most anticipated game of professional football is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl, indisputably the utmost important game in the NFL, contains some of the most sensational moments that have ever been witnessed by spectators. Subsequent to the creation of the NFL, the Super Bowl has been competed in by multiple athletes and has had multitudinous highlights. On January 21, 1979 the Pittsburgh Steelers and the defending NFL champion Dallas Cowboys contended in Super Bowl XIII (Clary 232). One of the most famous mistakes appeared during Super Bowl XXVII. The Dallas Cowboys were dominating the Buffalo Bills with time running out. It was a near perfect game for the Cowboys until Leon Lett obtained the ball. “On the fourth quarter play, Buffalo Bills quarterback Frank Reich (the Bills had already pulled Jim Kelley) was stripped of the ball and defensive tackle Leon Lett grabbed the ball and ran downfield for a touchdown. Unfortunately for Lett, he slowed down and held the ball out to showboat as he headed for the end zone. Amazingly despite the game being over and having nothing to play for, wide receiver Don Beebe ran him down and stripped him of the ball and the touchdown. It was one of the most embarrassing moments in an otherwise stellar career for Lett” (Garda
