here are many similarities and differences between Coyote Rides The Sun and The Magic Paintbrush, but here's two of each. Two similarities are: same lesson/moral and main characters getting what they want. Two differences are: the ending and protagonist vs. antagonist experiencing the lesson. Here are some of the many similarities and differences between Coyote Rides the Sun and The Magic Paintbrush. A first similarity is the moral. In both Coyote Rides The Sun and The Magic Paintbrush the moral is be careful for what you wish for. The coyote learns he shouldn’t have ridden the sun because it is painful. (on page 16-20) The emperor learns not to wish not to wish for money because he got tricked to be stranded on a deserted island made of money and experiences the pain of loneliness. (On page 16,20) Since both situations are painful and we don’t like pain, we don’t want to experience pain. A second similarity is both characters get what they want. The coyote rides the sun just like he wanted to. (on pages 16-20) Ma Ling wanted to be a painter and got the magic paintbrush. (on pages 6-9) Both characters tried something and got a result.
