ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to decide on whether or not I want to build my own business or buy one. I am going to craft a brief strategy for a business concept that will compete with the small business of my choice. I will then determine if it would make more sense to open up the new business that I described or to purchase the existing business I selected. Next, I will discuss the most appropriate form of ownership for my new business based on my current financial statement. The final thing I will do is create an outline business plan for my business.
Craft a brief (1-2 pages) strategy for a business concept that would directly compete with the small business you selected. Explain the rationale for the strategy in detail.
The small business I chose to write about for this assignment is Little Einstein Academy, the daycare that my son goes to. The daycare is located in Dallas, Georgia, which is where I live. They have different programs for children of different ages. (Little Einstein’s Learning Academy) Their infant program is for babies six weeks old up to 18 months. If I bought the daycare, a lot of things would’ve already taken care of for me. I wouldn’t have to worry about finding a location. The location of the daycare is not too bad. It’s right by a Walmart, so it’s very easy for families that frequently shop at Walmart to notice it and think about enrolling their children there. Another thing I wouldn’t have to worry about is buying land and building the daycare itself. This daycare is already built and on land. I wouldn’t have to put my money into getting those things done. The other thing I wouldn’t have to worry about would be the staff. The daycare already has its own staff, I would be taking over as the owner, but all of the teachers would remain at the daycare so I wouldn’t have to worry about hiring
