Firstly, the video provided a better understanding between wealth inequality and income inequality. Also, it provided more clarity on the history and the distribution of wealth on a global level. In addition, the video provided information on how the wealth inequality gap has increased globally over the last seventy years. The Crash Course in Economics: Income and Wealth Inequality video was also able to provide easy to comprehend data about the Equality Line, Lorenz Curve, and the meaning of the Gini Index. Moreover, the video presented information on why the wealth and income gap continues to rise. The Crash Course in Economics: Income and Wealth Inequality video explained that although the poor have had an increase in wealth and income in the last few years, it has not been as exponential as the increase for rich people has been. The graphs and animation provided in the video added to my understanding of the impact that inequality has had not only on a global scale, but on a personal scale as well. Although I understood both Komlik (2014) and Inglehart (2016), the Crash Course in Economics: Income and Wealth Inequality video provided an insightful and easy to understand definition of wealth and income inequality.
