The purpose of this poster is to show how the music festival Creamfields 2015 which was attended in August bank holiday weekend relates to theories and concepts as events asa performance. it will show how the concept of performance and theories apply to the concepts of creamfields 2015. using the 5 W’s by Goldblatt (2005);

The target market for Creamfields is aged over 18. they are very strict with underage people who try and get into the festival so they have enforced a challenge 21 scheme at the festival to stop this type of things happening. creamfields is defiantly aimed towards dance music lovers who enjoy the rave and clubbing life.

Creamfields is without a doubt one of the world's biggest, music festivals. Its the first dance festival to provide the clubbing experience in a large outdoor arena’s, and which has become the most popular open air electronic music festival in the world.

GOLDBLATT 2005: WHEN? Creamfields took place on Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August 2015.

Performance Concept

This year creamfields was attended by 70,000 people. according to Raj et al (2013:8) creamfields would fall into the typology of musical events as the festival hosts a number of different DJS each displaying a variety of different house and techno music. in addition Richie (1984, p. 2) indicates that creamfields is a Hallmark event as he defines this as ‘’Major one time or recurring events of limited duration, develop primarily to enhance awareness, appeal and profitability of a tourism destination in the short term or long term.’’ this relates to the festival because cream fields is a recurring event but its only on for 3 days every year, and also the festival does attract a lot of tourism as a lot of people form america and Europe travel for the festival because its the seen to be one of the best in the
