Emeraldblossom stared in shock, Hawkspots had killed Blackshade, and he was leader! She looked over at Sandblossom, “It’s going to be okay Sandblossom, I’ll get you to Crystalwater.” Sandblossom looked up at her, “No Emeraldblossom, you can’t save me, even if you did find Crystalwater, she wouldn’t be able to heal this. You know that.” Emeraldblossom shook her head. “No. You’re wrong, I can still save you!”
“Stop Emeraldblossom. I’m so glad that you got to be deputy, you really deserve it, and I just wish I had longer to see you in the position. I’m glad I got my warrior name before this.”

Littlekit, Ratkit, and Oakkit cried and their mother, Hazelflight wrapped her tail around the comfortingly, sorrow filling her eyes that her mate, Blinkpelt, had been killed. Redflower and Berryblaze were licking their brother, Shadepelt’s fur. Across the clearing Marblepool, Dawnheart, and Dovepool all grieved for their sister Bluefall. Brightdart sat next to the dead body of her sister Yellowstream, and Birdfoot and her kit Poppykit, mourned Shrewfur’s death.
Next, Moonstar climbed the High Rock and called out the names of the dead MoonClan cats, “Let us sit vigil and honor the deaths of Bramblepelt, Wintertail, Pebblecreek, Froststorm, and young Goldenpaw.” She leaped down from the High Rock to join her clan in mourning the deaths of the MoonClan cats. Milliestar climbed the High Rock as well, to announce the dead BloodClan cats, “BloodClan, let us honor the warriors that died fighting for the clans tonight!
