Michael was always the first one at the cabin every year cleaning up and preparing for his sisters, Allison and Sophie, to arrive. Next, usually Shawn would arrive then Andrew and Brooke since they've been dating for about two years and always are together. This winter the snow was extra thick and flurries would hit the mountain valley where the cabin sits. They were all happy to be reunited again but didn't know this would be the last time they all had the joy to get away from the world at a remote snowy cabin in the middle of the woods. Shawn and Michael leave Andrew at the cabin with Emma and go to the guest cabin. After about a 5 minute walk down a snowy trail they see the cabin. They continue up to it and shine a flashlight through the window and can tell that it was not the way they left it in other trips. Michael opens the creaking door slowly and hesitates before walking in. Michael now is getting a weird feeling because there things about the cabin seem different. He notices that the fireplace looks recently used. Michael is ready to leave but Shawn wants to investigate more to try to figure out who it was that has been there and why he is there. Shawn goes to the bedroom at the back of the cabin. He found pictures pinned up to the wall of everyone at the cabin. He notices that Sophie and Allison's pictures have red X’s over them. This is when he realizes that they did not just get lost in the woods. Something else happened. Along with the X over them there was an X over Brooke. On this wall with the pictures was also a blueprint of the cabin and various notes talking about them and some just nonsense. He showed Michael what he found and they knew they had to get out of
