I crept like an insect, silent, into the darkness. “Who’s there?” The man asked. I grinned. His vulture eyes would never haunt me again. The darkness was the only thing standing between him and me, but then my brilliant plan suddenly went wrong. The man leaped out of bed and pushed me back into the armoire. There was a CRACK where my head came in contact with the corner of the armoire. All I could see then was more darkness. After I came to my senses, there was just more darkness shielding my eyes, not allowing me to leave. I reached up and my hand felt the wood of the floor. How did this happen?
