Many say that the gods are supposed to respect each other. They're wrong. Mortis was born troubled- born thinking that everyone was against him, incapable of understanding anything but hatred, anger, and sadness.

The brothers were arguing about the most recent battle of the great houses. The brothers constantly thinking that one can coincide without the other.

"I'm sorry," Life said. "You just don't know what it means to rule- you're not ready. You know how people are. They're afraid of darkness- they're afraid of you. They just don't think it's... clean." Death's' eyes changed to a shimmering purple. "You have to understand! Please!-"

"No-" Death took a deeply angered breath. "I don't understand. Do you think I chose to be a freak of darkness? That I like to take the lives of the innocent away? I have to hide in the shadows just so I don't get ran away from." Death shook his head …show more content…

"Ten Gales, love." Valor coughs at her unsuspected reply. She usually gives him a deal on the bread, or is this the deal?

"Ten Gales? That bread better make me piss blocks of gold." The merchant laughs at Valor's 'joke'. His expression told her everything she needed to know. She didn't blame him, though. After everything that happened during the epic thunderstorm that tore Ignitus to bits, supply went downhill.

"Well yeah, that's not easy to make you know. You have to understand, I have to save up funds to reopen my shop, the damn storm took out everything." Valor sighs and gives the merchant her money. On his way to the bar, Valor runs into his old friend, Julius, and his family.

"Hi there Julius! How's it been bud?" Julius and Carthine stop to talk, but their children continue to walk.
